Production area
It includes the whole territory of the Ancona and Macerata provinces, according to the production rules and regulations of the Verdicchio di Matelica and the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.

Grapevine Esino Rosso
At least 60% must be made, jonintly or individually, using Sangiovese and Montepulciano vines (used also for Rosso Piceno, Rosso Conero and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba). It is also possible to blend up to 40% of other authorized red vines.

Grapevine Esino Bianco
It is obtained from using a min. of 50% of Verdicchio grapes. It is possible ti blend up to a max. of 50% of other authorized white grapes.

Characteristics
Appearence: ruby red in colour
Scent: peculiar and strong.
Flavour: dry
Alcohol content: min.10,5°C, Sparkling min. 9,5°C.

Optimum age
They should be drunk when young.

Accompanying Foods
When serving wines with foods, the structure and the state of development of the wine, along with those wines of the same type, need to be taken into considerations. 

This is a wine to be considered for all meals due to its complete range of red, white, sparkling and novello. 

It should not be considered as an inferior wine in respect to the other well established wines available. Its low alcohol content gives it its fresh harmoious taste.
