Genga, a castle perched up above the Gola di Frasassi, and the birthplace of Annibale della Genga who was to became Pope under the anme Leone XII. Between the Abbey of San Vittore delle Chiuse (a fine example of the Romanesque style in the Marche) and the spa with its spring of sulphurous waters, lie the extraordinary Frasassi caves, a magnificent subterranean complex open to the public all year round.
