The Adriatic Sea can be glimpsed among the sun-flowers fields and olive groves between the villages of Massignano and Montefiore dell’Aso perched on two hills dominating the area. Both villages are typical Medieval hamlets with their bell towers rising over the roofs of the old houses around them.
An old farmhouse built at the beginning of the 20th century, Il Melograno Bed and Breakfast is just outside Massignano. The ochre yellow colour of the outside is mirrored in the different shades of yellow inside creating a warm welcoming atmosphere. In the garden birds have their own little wooden house hanging from the branch of a cherry tree and a bird bath under the big fig trees. The birds seem to appreciate these “personal facilities” and have scattered seeds of several plants including some majestic sunflowers all over the garden
ll Melograno has three double bedrooms, each with a fresh spring feeling. Each is named after the hand painted flowers on the “Arte Povera” furniture: Papaveri, Calle and Genziane. All the bedrooms have internet connection, air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms with water massage shower and, to offer privacy to the guests, have a private entrance.
The Genziane and Papaveri bedrooms share the same main entrance and can be used independently or together as a little family suite. In the Calle bedroom there is an old linen curtain with beautifully embroidered initials which was part of the trusseau of a one-hundred-year old lady from Trentino.
