Le Torri by Cocci Grifoni

Le Torri by Cocci Grifoni

A lively red wine, Rosso Piceno Doc is perfect for a barbeque or with tagliolini with mushrooms. It would be even better to choose a superior quality product, like Le Torri. It is a full bodied melange of San Giovese (60%) and Montepulciano (40%).

The grapes are hand harvested in the Cocci Grifoni vineyards located between Offida e Ripatransone, in the South of Marche. Processing is slow and careful, after the pressing at controlled temperature, and soaking, the wine is mixed with yeast and it is then left to age in precious Slavonia oak wood barrels.

Uncork the bottle and enjoy the first fragrance of ripe grape and bilberries. Pour the wine in the decanter then, and you will feel the flowery and earthy notes typical of the beautiful hills stretched from the Sibillini mountains to the Adriatic sea.

And then you will taste the dense and full bodied taste, strong in its 13% alcoholic content. It has characteristic notes of bitter fruit such as plums and the sweet ones of cinnamon. It must be served at 20°C to allow a better melting and amalgamation of the aromas. Now some advice for matching this wine.

The delightful “olive all’ascolana” are perfect to start, then risotto with artichokes or broth and cappeletti so to have some boiled meat to be served with assorted jam: blackberries jam, wild plum jam and sun dried sour black cherries jam. As for dessert some slices of “lonzino di fichi”.
