Where is Le Marche?

Discover a geographical area suspended between the enchantment of the mountain and the magic of the sea, capable of rivalling the better known and more frequented highways and by-ways of the italian territory
The Marche - remember they're plural - form the eastern seaboard of central Italy with the regions of Emilia-Romagna to the north and Abruzzo to the south. From the relatively narrow coastal plains the land rises sharply to the peaks of the Apennines that form a natural boundary with Umbria and Tuscany to the west.
While the coastal plains are more densely populated, the beautiful inland countryside is sparsely inhabited. The total population is around 1.5 million with an average density of less than 150 inhabitants per square kilometre; in other words peace and quiet assured. The region covers just under 10,000 square kilometres.
The prettiest is perhaps Monte Conero, just south of Ancona. The lone limestone mountain provides the only really rugged coastline in the Marche, rising spectacularly out of the sea to a height of just over 500 metres. The park boasts over a thousand species of wild plants, as well as fascinating bird life. And if that's not enough, the views out over the sea are stunning.
For centuries the Marche has existed, jealously guarding its hidden treasures, but remaining unknown to the world. Its unique landscapes, and the kindness of its inhabitants, are a surprise to anybody venturing into this land on a voyage of discovery.
Le Marche’s picturesque villages are full of ancient Churches, Abbeys and Monasteries, all beautifully preserved over the years. Its sunny hills, marked by rows of vines and leafy oak trees overlooking verdant valleys, speak of a natural environment undisturbed by the need of mankind to work the land, the calm beauty of the natural landscape offering the opportunity for rest and reflections in the midst of a sea of intense and velvety green.
Monte Conero, home to abundant strawberry trees and broom, rises above the sea with its deep shady green, offering a corner of paradise shielded from the modern world.
Paradise Possible will take you by hand through Le Marche, a region at the same time surprising and discrete, to discover its hidden treasures and help you search for your own corner of paradise and for the ideal country home in which to realise your plans for happiness.

Una grotta sul mare

A marvellous cave has been dug many years ago just below the very centre of Ancona. The place has been recently restored and completely insulated. A kitchen has been built using traditional materials. The place is a real jewel of Ancona past traditions. Old fishermen still stroll there to live their passion, the sea. Many of them still use these caves in summer to set up at sea early in the morning. During the quiet afternoons, having parked their cars and having had a walk around Il Passetto they go there and sit in front of the blue Adriatic sea. They used to work hard there, but they love that place as nature there is still untouched and it is pervaded by tradition. Beautiful doors painted in different colours and the sea rich in fish and mussels provides the setting for beautiful days at sea where to enjoy barbeques or simply reading a book comfortably seated in front of your cave. The scenery is stunning and just a small boat would be your means of transportations to beautiful small beaches that can be reached in five minute sailing.
Le Marche, a region in central Italy enclosed between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, is a land rich in poetry, art and history, with a stunningly beautiful landscape that is both hospitable and maternal.
