Marche UK

The Collection

Here, in this region of Central Italy, sloping down from the Apennines to the Adriatic Sea across the gentle hills of the countryside, is where our story begins.

A region to discover daily, offering within a small territory everything you would expect from Italy.

A region which, through the centuries, has managed to achieve and preserve a perfect harmony between nature, culture and society, which is totally unique.

The deep-rooted link with tradition, the passion for simple and yet skilfully homemade food and for the authenticity of its recipes, and the quality and genuineness of its produce, are at the basis of the excellence of the region’s food and wine.

It is an ancient tradition indeed, which at the same time is constantly reinterpreted and refined by the innate creativity and aspiration “to be the best” of its people.

It is a rich and varied tradition as well, offering an ever-changing variety of local products and specialties from north to south, and especially from the coast to the mountains and across the inland countryside, stemming from different habits, lifestyles and local produce.

A tradition which the true art of its chefs and the solid inventiveness of its producers keep constantly alive.

Born with the mission of taking Le Marche to the world, Marche UK provides niche producers from the region with shared facilities and operations in the UK, thus helping them achieve combined critical mass and overcome barriers of scale.

We constantly search for the best local products – which we select on quality and uniqueness – and for producers who strive for excellence in their own field, by combining tradition and genuineness with innovative methods and recipes.

The Collection is the ever-expanding result of this ongoing search and selection process, and one of the points where Marche UK seeks its own excellence.

The products are then made available to the UK market directly from Le Marche via a streamlined supply chain, achieving efficiency even with small combined deliveries.
Marche UK is not an importer, but embodies the direct presence of its producers in the market.

Such presence ensures constant two-way communication, customer service and full product information – also through tasting events and training sessions – providing at the same time a vehicle for the diffusion and promotion of the culture and gastronomic traditions of Le Marche.
The Collection is composed of many “pearls”, still precious if taken individually as each company shines through the quality of its products and history.

The Collection is designed to retain and enhance each one’s strengths and diversity, without levelling out any individual excellence into a “general catalogue”.

At the same time, all the producers are main players in a theatre of voices, images and flavors, from which each one’s uniqueness emerges amplified.

If each company is a pearl, it’s in the “string of pearls” that the uniqueness of the Marche UK Collection lies.

TALES THROUGH A LENS
“A Biscuit with a View”
Finding yourself in a garden by the banks of the river Thames, in the shade of a terraced house far away from your own land, telling of the golden summer hills and the long lines of flourishing vineyards, increases the desire to bring the pleasure of those colors in your heart, right to your doorstep.  A blossoming photographer, a young manager and the inventor of this “mission” that aims to bring the best products from this earthly paradise which is Le Marche to this land, where the pasta enchants and the wine marvels with its new flavors, beyond what’s already well known to the world.  Beyond the popular Pinot Grigio and much loved Champagne, you can discover that a Rosso Conero goes well with the best meats, that an apple and mint jam goes splendidly with slithers of seasoned cheese, that the best buffalo mozzarella doesn’t only come from Campania or that Ciauscolo (so difficult to pronunce) is an amazing soft salami.  That land is not so far away after all: it is there, intact, enclosed in boxes of trenette, aniseed biscuits and aromatic oils that have traveled all the way to this wrought iron table.  A Ciambella as a telescope, a fork as a lens and a photograph as a window-sill onto a countryside full of excellent tastes.  Looking beyond and deeper inside, appreciating the quality of that little – or not at all – known product, and at the same time the story that lies behind it.  “Tales through a lens” reveal the craftsmen of these creations of taste, their dreams come true now traveling to further horizons, ready to conquer new palates with their fascinating flavors.  They tell their own stories through the images of their universe that is all around them, from the paths they create walking through the grain fields every day, to the memorized route to the truffle ground set between the mountains.  There are no cold lists, anonymous products, bottles, boxes or jars cut out of their settings; they are there, immersed in their colors between their people, where they have achieved excellence, the result of effort and passion; we see the ploughed fields and fruit trees, the colored beehives and the first mature grape in the bunch.  As though leaning out of a window on a far but near horizon, Giuliano and Giovanni bring over here that landscape, made up of gentle hills and mountains facing the sea, to enchant the tastes of those who are unaware and perhaps wouldn’t expect to find Le Marche, especially in the light of a pale English afternoon, through the hole of a Ciambella alla Vernaccia.
