1283 / Review Casale del Coriandolo / Mergo

Il Casale del Coriandolo (The farmhouse Coriandolo – ID 1278) is located in the middle of a vineyard not far from the village of Mergo.

In the courtyard of the farmhouse are two age-old mulberry trees and a cypress- tree. On the surrounding land there is a well with water vein.

Il Casale del Coriandolo (The farmhouse Coriandolo - ID1278) is built on two floors with a small adjacent accessory located in the valley side ; the ground floor is used as a storage-cellar and the first floor is used as a private house.

The ground floor is placed on different levels and with different internal heights.

The connection between the two levels is possible through a central staircase with a unique ramp.

The structure is in masonry bearing square sandstone , yellowish, with the presence of (clay) bricks in the corners and openings (architraves, doors, windows).

The original floor covering is in beams and fillets of wood and brick tiles. The blanket of coverage is with bent tile handmade bricks in the typical colors of the area.

The interpolation floors were redone in the years s'60-s'70, for the most part with beams "IPO" Varese "with the overlying tiles of brick.

In one part of the house you can still see the original floors of interpolations made with beams and planks of wood.

Some floors are in ceramic tile and other floorings are made of old brick.

The outside doors and windows with rear doors, are made of wood.

State of preservation-Considerations of a work plan for building renovation

The farmhouse has no major structural damage so that we believe that it lies on a plot of good consistency.

This does not mean that there are not required reinforcement intervention to the structures of the foundation.

To make the ground floor habitable, it is necessary to make various interventions including the renovation of the floors, after excavation and readaptation of the intern levels with the aim of making it easier to move between the rooms and make the property more healthy and enjoyable.

The floors of interpolation can be considered in good condition while the attic and roof covering shall be completely redone; the same thing regards all installations / fixtures of the building.

For interior and exterior finishing work, you can choose between multiple solutions. Finally, we believe that this is a building with great potential and functional versatility.
