Location

La casa sul mare is located in Sirolo, within the Conero Park.

Sirolo is certainly one of the most beautiful and enchanting areas of the region. Its community has traditions of seafaring and mountain dwellers. Down along the coast, attracted by the aromatic taste of the wine, the different kinds of fruit, like strawberry-trees, cherry trees, almonds. walnuts, by the animals like roes and wild pigs, and by the abundance of spring waters.
But most of all the Piceni left that peculiar historical and cultural stamp of which has been preserved a large heritage up to the present days.

Located in a paradise of beauties, Sirolo rises vertically at 125m. above the sea. The square of the town, scenographic though without remarkable elements, is very lively, with the open-air cafès and tables which arrive to the gardens. It is a terrace from which you can admire marvellous views.

The main street too is very beautiful, full of characteristic foreshortenings, and small churches which evoke antique atmospheres. The whole historical centre is situated inside the fortress. Sirolo is also a town of fascinating traditions, like that of the “washerwomen”, who have carried for many years the washed clothes baskets on their head to Ancona, or of the “lace workers” who have embodied the trousseaus for the dowries of wealthy girls from Ancona.

The beaches here are still wild, with inlets, marvellous rocks and caves. Its waters boast an enchanting blue. To reach the beach of Urbani there are buses that from the centre go to the car park, but it is necessary to walk for the last 200 m. because of the very steep roads. From the beach of Urbani you get to the beach of San Michele, longer then the previous one, equipped with simple beach facilities.

The walk continues until Sassi Neri, a rocky beach with brown coloured stones, then to the Spianacci or Stones of the Books (bedded stone similar to the pages of a book).

Finally you get to the famous beach of the “Two Sisters”, close to Mount Conero, a beach still wild that entirely preserves its natural beauty, without any facilities and dwelled by hundreds of seagulls.

It can be reached only by sea. Near the beach rise the two rocks of the “Two Sisters”, stacks that attract the tourist for their undoubted charm, but also suggestive for those who can always admire them.
